Note to Massdrop users: If you buy the ESP 95X, it is the same headphone as the ESP 950, redone. The Energizer is basically the same. You will want to use this service to modify your extension cable for use with a better amp. Preferably a tube unit.
The KOSS ESP 950 and Now the ESP 95X Electrostatic Headphones are truly still the best available. It has survived the test of time. We like them so much we sold all of our Stax headphones we normally use to monitor designs and repairs. The limiting factor with the KOSS ESP 950 and yes, the ESP 95X is the E/90 amplifier/energizer that comes with it. Not bad, but Its not the best. Now you can use the KOSS ESP 950 or ESP95X with any Electrostatic amplifier that uses the PRO BIAS connector. Simply use the adapter cable, made from your extension cable. We use ours with the Kingsound M-20 tube amplifier. We have also tried all the Stax amplifiers but the Kingsound is the best, and priced reasonably. Buy this adapter cable and get all the KOSS ESP 950 ESP 95X has to offer. If you though they are good with the KOSS Energizer/Amplifier, wait until you here them with a better amplifier.
We modify your extension cable to order, so you can make this cable as small as a few inches. Specify if you want a shorter cable at purchase time, indicate the size.
