Loomis initially modified Tempress Wafer Scribers which formed the
basis of their initial product line.  The 33 LI is a simple upgrade and
a generally  very reliable scriber at an inexpensive price.
(FYI - N&R Scientifc sold used Tempress scribers to Loomis back in the 1980's for Loomis to upgrade.)
