Set of 2 Vintage Japanese Ceramic Clay Dorei Children Bells
Both are in very good condition.
They look like they are wrapped in leaves or a flower.
No cracks or chips. 1 has a little smeared paint on the face.
1 has tag on the base.
One measures approx. 4-7/8" tall and one is 4-5/8" tall.
This is a ceramic bell called 土鈴 "dorei". 鈴 is "Suzu" which means bell and 土 is "do" which means earth, soil and is part of 粘土 meaning clay.
So...this is a clay/ceramic bell. These bells have a ceramic ball inside so the sound is a coarse, rolling sound.
